Obituary

Carolyn “Karen” Cavalieri, age 68, passed away peacefully May 10th, 2021 due to a sudden battle with Cancer. She was born November 14th, 1952 in Philadelphia, PA to Bernard and Carolyn McCoy. She was happily married to her husband of 45 years, Peter Cavalieri. She leaves behind a sister, Delores McCoy of Woonsocket, RI. and a late brother B.J. McCoy. She was a loving mother to two children, Katie Davis of Littleton, MA and Anthony Cavalieri of Douglas, MA. Karen had two wonderful grand kids, Brody and Tanner Davis who loved her greatly.

Karen loved to make people feel loved. She would be the one always interested in someone’s life story and had a true gift of listening to others. She was a giver and her heart was built for doing whatever it took to make others around her smile. Through the early years she cherished her time with cousins, aunts, uncles and family down at the Jersey Shore. Karen was a semi-pro casino patron and was a nationally ranked connoisseur of everything Gluten-Free ??. There wasn’t a holiday that went by where she didn’t have a matching sweater/earing combo to set the festive mood. Karen was involved with the local food banks and had a deep appreciation for acupuncture and spiritual insights through mediums.

For many years Nonna worked as a Special Needs educator at the local school system in Franklin, MA. Karen was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She treasured her children/grandkids and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nonna (grandmother). She had a vivacious personality and always made people around her feel special and loved. She made friends everywhere she went and her loving/caring nature brought warmth and sunshine into the lives of so many. Karen will be truly missed, but it is clear that she is looking down from heaven with a smile letting us all know we have someone with a BIG heart looking over us from up above.

Please join us celebrating her life Sunday afternoon May 16th, 2021, between 2pm -4pm for a Public Wake Service (Oteri Funeral Home – Franklin, MA. and a Celebration of Life Party from 5pm - 7pm at Coachman’s Lodge in Bellingham, MA.
