Daphne Iola Stone Davis, 92, of Tifton passed away Monday, May 10, 2021, at the Rehabilitation Center of South Georgia in Tifton. A private family graveside funeral service will be held for Mrs. Davis at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 12, 2031, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Steve Tucker will officiate.
Born September 10, 1928 in Berrien County, Mrs. Davis was the daughter of the late Coy Stone and Rebecca Metts Stone. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Doogin Davis and two brothers. She was a retired seamstress and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Davis is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James Emerson and Shirley Davis of Chula; one daughter and son-in-law, Susan Lynn and Dr. J. Durward Black of Cartersville; one sister, Sarah Jane Thompson of Tifton; three grandchildren, Amy Davis Greene, Rebecca Black Clements and Patrick Black; one great grandchild and his wife, Joshua and Tamia Odom of Wake Forest; and several nieces and nephews.
