Obituary

Shirley Anne (Phaneuf) Lacerte, died May 07, 2021, just shy of her 87th birthday. She was born in Southbridge, Massachusetts on May 23, 1934 to Kilda and Maria (Dorval) Phaneuf and later moved to Manchester, NH. Shirley was the youngest daughter in a family where siblings spanned 21 years, making her an aunt at the age of one! In 1961, she married Paul J Lacerte and they enjoyed 57 years together. Initially employed by the Telephone Company, Shirley devoted much of her life to raising her six children. Along with her husband Paul, Shirley was an active supporter of her children’s activities which included Scouting, youth sports, and the Manchester Memorial Music programs. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Church.
She was predeceased by her husband and all seven of her siblings. She is survived by her children; Anne Marie Chesno and her husband, Lewis of Brentwood, Marc Lacerte of Manchester, Alan Lacerte and his wife, Kimberly of Manchester, Lisa Cross and her husband Fred, Jill Cross and her husband, David, all of Dunbarton, Jami Snyder and her husband Joshua of Almond, NY., thirteen grandchildren, one great grandchild, one brother-in-law Marcel Lacerte and his wife, Claire of Manchester, a sister-in-law Doris Phaneuf of Brookline, NH, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 from 4 to 7pm at J. N. Boufford & Sons Funeral Home, 110 Bridge St.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at 11:30 am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Litchfield.
Committal prayers will follow in St. Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a children’s charity.
