Obituary

TIVERTON – Steven J. Fusco, age 74, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 6, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Helene (Richard) Fusco. Born in Providence, RI, he was the son of the late James and Giovanina (Ianiello) Fusco. Steven was a 1965 graduate of Cranston East High School and a 1967 graduate of Johnson and Wales University. Prior to retirement he worked for Kmart for 32 years as a manager. He was an avid sports fan for New York Yankees and New England Patriots. Steven had a passion for reading. His two favorite pastimes were laughing and eating great food, but most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Along with his wife he was the devoted father to his daughters Deanna Upchurch (husband Richard) of Tiverton, RI and Nicole McMann (husband Derek) of Fall River; brother to Rosalie DeMaio of Cranston; grandfather to Nina Varao (husband Mitchell), Angela Consonni and Nathan Upchurch; as well as several nieces and nephews. He will also be sadly missed by many friends, especially his 2 closest friends Donald Tomasso and Donald Durfee. He was predeceased by his siblings James E. Fusco and Barbara Malkasian.

Steven’s family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to his private caregiver Deborah Rego and his hospice care team of HopeHealth Hospice, including Katie Villardo, Erika Small, Denis Lynch, Erica Ortell and especially his hospice volunteer Frank Rodrigues who cared for Steven with gentleness and love during his last few weeks.

Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a service at Swan Point Cemetery, Redwood Chapel at 11 A.M. on Tuesday, May 11th. Cremation to follow. Calling hours on Monday, May 10th from 4-7 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of the Manuel Rogers Funeral Home, Fall River. We ask for your patience as you may need to wait to come in to pay your respects.
