Bridget M. O’Brien (Darby) of Winthrop, formerly of Somerville, passed away on May 3, 2021. She was 91 years old. Bridget was the beloved wife of the late Patrick T. O’Brien. Born in Dublin, Ireland, she was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Helena (Shelley) Darby.
Bridget loved to go ballroom dancing with her late husband. She was a dedicated wife and mother.
Bridget was the devoted mother of Raymond C, O’Brien of Winthrop, Laraine P. Mitchell and her husband Grant of Lynnfield and the late Gary J. O’Brien. She was the adored grandmother of Thomas O’Brien. Bridget was the dear sister of the late Catherine Mele and Joseph, Charles and Thomas Darby and the loving aunt of Helena Hardy and her husband Dennis and many other nieces and nephews.
A visiting hour will be held in St. Bridget Parish 830 Worcester Rd. Framingham, MA, on Saturday, May 15, from 9-9:50AM, followed by a funeral Mass beginning at 10AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Natick.
