Obituary

WORCESTER__ Lloyd O. Gendron, 81, of Worcester died, Thursday, March 23rd, in his home.

He leaves his wife of 33 years, Elaine (Plante) West Gendron, three sons, David Gendron and his wife Carol of Shrewsbury; Stephen Gendron of Cedar Grove, FL, and Michael West and his wife, Carrie of Worcester; four daughters, Nancy Schuster and her husband Roy of Columbus, TN, Pauline Gendron of Panama City, FL, Linda Stone and her husband James of Worcester and Rosemarie Stevens and her husband William of Cantonment, Fl, a sister, June Plante and her husband Oliver of Worcester; fifteen grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Marjorie Campbell of Shrewsbury died in 1986. He was born in Worcester, a son of Oscar and Angelina Gendron.

Mr. Gendron attended Worcester Boys Trade High School. At the age of 18 he left to serve in the U.S. Army attached to the 410 Medical Regiment in New Guinea during World War II. He retired in 1986 after working at Standard Lock Washer Co. as a traffic manager for 40 years. He was a member of West Boylston VFW Post 6907 and was a member and past post commander of West Boylston Post 204, American Legion. He was a member of the Quinsigamond Yacht Club and was a former member of La Societe des 40 Hommes et 8 Chevaux, Northern Worcester County Voiture #300.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday March 31 at 10:30 am in St. Margaret Mary Church, 75 Alvarado Ave. Burial will be private. Calling hours will be held Thursday March 30 from 6 to 8 pm in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Margaret Mary Church, 77 Alvarado Ave, Worcester, MA. 01604.
