Obituary

TILTON---Stanley “Bub” M. Newton, II, of Tilton, NH, passed away on Sunday, May 2, 2021, at the age of 57 from COVID-19 complications.

Stan was born to parents, Stanley Malcolm Newton and Henrietta (Libby) Newton of Belmont, NH, in December of 1963. Stan grew up the second oldest of four children and attended Belmont High School.

Stan was a hard worker in any job he chose to do, whether it was poker, managing a pizza parlor, or running delivery services. Stan often helped his father with chores and cutting wood on the family farm. Stan would do anything to help his family; even cooking holiday meals and putting up the Christmas tree with his sister after his mother’s passing.

Stan enjoyed football and over the years would watch the Patriots with his brother and nephews engaging in animated loud commentary at the television.

Stan loved his girlfriend, Diane Lang, very much and enjoyed spending time with her.

Stan was selfless and helpful to family and friends with a deep sense of loyalty. Stan was an avid reader and extremely intelligent. He was always learning new things, whether it was computer maintenance that he taught himself or researching how to fix something with his father. If he didn’t know the answer, he would research the subject until he felt comfortable.

Stan was known for his quick, generous spirit and sarcastic sense of humor. Stan could be found laughing at various internet memes and, in his younger days, was an avid reader of Bloom County, Calvin and Hobbs, and The Far Side. Stan LOVED dogs and was a great animal lover.

Stan was a loyal friend to many and is greatly missed.

Stan is survived by his father Stanley; his girlfriend, Diane Lang; two sisters, Denise Barstow and her husband John, and Sherry Newton and her partner Mark Hopkins; a brother, Jason Newton and his wife Nicole; three nephews, Kristopher Newton, Joshua Newton, and Matthew Blanchette and his partner Betsy Doubleday; a niece, Katie Blanchette; two great-nephews, Jacob and Cole Blanchette; and countless aunts, uncles, and cousins on both the Newton and Libby side of the family. Stan was predeceased by his mother, Henrietta (Libby) Newton, and his grandparents Vivian and Malcom Newton and Marion Bailey and Albert Libby.

Stan was not one for memorials or formal gatherings and would be pleased if all his family and friends celebrated his life in their own way with good food and a toast to him. His family understands the need for closure and welcomes all to share any stories about Stan at the following site dedicated to Stan: Forever Missed
