Bobby Harold Copeland, 88, of Tifton passed away Monday, May 3, 2021, at Southern Oaks Personal Care Home in Tifton. His funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 5, 2021, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Dr. Danny Ray officiating. Mr. Copeland will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born September 26, 1932 in Irwin County, Mr. Copeland was the son of the late B. H. “Bo” Copeland and Annie Lee Padgett Copeland. He retired from Tifton Aluminum Company and loved hunting and fishing with his friends. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Korean Conflict, where he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.
Mr. Copeland is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Caren and Jim Greer of Tifton and Cindy and Mike Ford of Fayetteville; two brothers, Jimmy Copeland of Forsyth and Johnny Copeland of Florence, Alabama; two sisters, Shelby Jean Beasley and Wylene Thomas, both of Tifton; three grandchildren, Tate Greer, Anna Greer and Caroline Ford; and numerous nieces and nephews.
