Obituary

"Beloved Sister, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother and friend to all"

HUDSON, NH Genevieve "Gen" (Caulfield) Otte, 87, of Hudson, NH, passed away surrounded by her loved ones on her 87th birthday, April 28, 2021 at Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH. She was the widow of David C. Otte, Sr., who passed away in 2013.

A daughter of the late John and the late Margaret (McSorley) Caulfield, she was born April 28, 1934, in Billerica. She was raised in Billerica where she attended the area schools, graduating from Howe High School in Billerica with the class of 1952.

For the past 18 years, she has made her home in Hudson, New Hampshire and was a communicant of St. Andrew’s Church in Billerica. Genevieve enjoyed ceramics and traveling, especially to European countries including, Scotland, Ireland, England, and France. She also enjoyed traveling around the United States and cruising through Alaska. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed decorating and maintaining an immaculate house. Although Genevieve had many passions throughout her life, spending time with her family brought her the most happiness.

During her lengthy career, Genevieve was employed as an executive secretary for the assistant plant manager at Raytheon for 6 years before her retirement. During her time at Raytheon, she used her talents in many aspects including, becoming the counselor of benefits for the company. She enjoyed many years as a school bus driver in Billerica with the Shaughnessy Bus Company.

She is survived by her children, David C. Otte, Jr. and his wife, Lorina of Dracut, Marilyn Lembo and her husband, Randy of Methuen, and David ‘Chipper’ Otte of Methuen; her grandchildren, Emily Otte of Milford, NH, Laura Silva and her husband, Robert of Lowell, Jennifer Kelly and her husband, Brian, of Salem, NH, Erika and Quentin Otte of Milton, NH, and Casey L'Heureux of Nashua, NH; and her great grandchildren, Lilliana, Landon, Maya and Lincoln Silva all of Lowell and Patrick Kelly of Salem, NH. She is also survived by her brothers, Edward ‘Bud’ Caulfield and his wife, Diana of Lowell, and John Caulfield and his wife, Gail of Greer, SC; her sister-in-law, Lillian Stetson of CT; her sister-in-law, Irene Otte of West Hartford, CT; and many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and grandnephews. Genevieve is also survived by her beloved daughter-in-law Tina Larivee of Milford, NH and her dear friends, Joyce and Jack Murphy of Tyngsboro.

She was also the mother of the late Christopher Otte, sister of the late Mary Recco; and dear friend of the late Barbara and Roland Nickerson.

The Otte and Caulfield families would also like to thank The Community Hospice House in Merrimack, NH and Southern New Hampshire Medical Center for their care and compassion throughout Genevieve's final days.
