Obituary

Marianne Theresa (Frost) Liptak
Age 81
of Saint Paul

Affectionately known as: Mar, Gramma, Grandma, G-ma, Gram, Grandma Ladybug, MJ Swam

Beloved daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, cousin and friend went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 29, 2021 peacefully surrounded by her family. Born on December 17, 1939 in Saint Paul, MN to Joseph Guy (Jack) and Anna Frost. One of three children raised on Rice Street in St. Paul, she attended grade school at Saint Bernard's Catholic School and graduated from Washington High School. Marianne married John Shortridge and had four children then married James Liptak, blended their families and together had another child. They raised their family in Maplewood. She worked at Ramsey Nursing home until 2005.

During her retirement she spent most of her time with family, celebrating life events, playing cards and bingo, and traveling when she could. She was deeply devoted to her family and friends and loved nothing more than attending family functions. Marianne was witty, sassy, and full of laughter. She most enjoyed goofing around, cooking, crafting, socializing at her apartment community and even with strangers she’d just met. Everywhere Marianne went, she always knew someone, and she was always the last one to leave a party. She was a bringer of gifts, just like a Ladybug. May you have sweet memories of her when a Ladybug lands near you! Hallelujah, she’s home.

Survived by Tracey Benson, Kerry (Jeff) Shortridge Cherry, Cindi (Lesley) Ford, Lauri Liptak, Jason (Lori) Liptak, Jay (Jessie) Shortridge, Anne-Marie (Sarah Kay) Liptak, 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, siblings Jack and Joseph Frost and husband James Liptak.
