New Bedford –Alice M. (Mello) Benevedes age 87,died Sunday March 26, 2006 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late James M. Benevedes and the Daughter of the late Jose and Mary (Encarnacao) Mello, Survivors include a Godchild Joyce Mello of New Bedford, a niece Susan Cooper and her Husband Kent of Lynn, MA. a Great-niece Elizabeth Simard and her husband Robert Jr. of Kingston, NH. Two Great-nephews Donald J. Silva of North Hampton, NH. and Joseph Mello IV of South Dartmouth, MA. She is also survived by two Great-great nieces Alison and Crystal Simard of NH. She was the sister of the late Mary S. Mello, Connie Andrade, and Joseph S. Mello II, and a nephew the late Joseph S. Mello Jr.
Mrs. Benevedes formerly worked as a floor Person at Freeman’s Shoes.
Funeral services will be held Thursday March 30, 2006 at 12 P.M. at the Perry Funeral Home 111 Dartmouth St. Relatives and Friends are invited . Visiting hours will be Tuesday March 28, 2006 from 7-9 P.M. and Wednesday March 29, 2006 2to 4 and 7-9 Burial will take place at St. John Cemetery.
