Obituary


Marie Athemise Previl affectionately known as “Man Ninie”, passed away peacefully on April 28th, 2021 at her home in the company of her loving family. She was born in Troin-Jacmel, Haiti on February 15,1929. She was the daughter of Elvilus Previl and Belzina Fleuranville. Man Ninie worked as a housekeeper in Haiti where she raised her children. In 1993, she immigrated to the United States, where she reunited with her daughter Theonne Manuel to help raise her grandchildren.

Man Ninie enjoyed gardening and loved sharing her harvest with her loved ones. She had a great sense of humor, enjoyed dancing, cooking for her family and friends, and was a sports fanatic. Man Ninie was also known for her strong work ethic and dedicated her efforts into enriching her family and community.

Overall, Man Ninie was a devoted mother and grandmother to many and her legacy will forever be remembered as someone who was selfless, loving and caring. We will continue to uphold her legacy by demonstrating love, joy, and empathy towards each other.

She was the loving mother of Jeanine Previl, Lionel Michel, Marie Maude Dabrezil, and Theonne Manuel



She was the cherished grandmother of Louigene Joanne,Lionel Michel Jr., Carmelo Michel, Nailande Michel, Judith Yolie Adonis, Dailande Fendia Louidor, Dorothy Manuel, Christie Manuel, and Ted Manuel

She was also loved by her great grandchildren: Joseph Alvin Johnson Romeo, Dalambert Giovanni Ralph Carly, Lucas Adonis Dorosario, Vanessa Jean-Marie and Brianna Naomie Cajuste

She will be missed and remembered by family and friends.

In compliance with COVID-19 guidelines, visiting hours will be held at the Joseph Russo Funeral Home, 814 American Legion Highway, Roslindale on Friday, May 7 from 6-8 PM. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at The Basilica of Our Lady of Perpetual Help -Mission Church 1545 Tremont St. Roxbury on Saturday May 8th at 10am.
Please follow all Covid guidelines, maximum church capacity 100 people due to Covid archdiocese restrictions. Interment Oak Lawn Cemetery, Roslindale.

*** COVID-19 Funeral Home Capacity Restrictions***
Joseph Russo Funeral Home Guidelines when attending a funeral wake/service.
Due to the Current Covid 19 restrictions only 60 guests are allowed in the funeral home at a time.
All visitors must wear a MASK in the funeral home and on the funeral home property.
All visitors will then follow SAFE DISTANCING
All visitors may pause at Casket/Urn and then EXIT the Funeral Home.
All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter.
All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
