Anne E. Barstis (Rexford), age 70, of Abington passed away after an illness on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Anne was born and raised in Weymouth. She graduated Weymouth High School in 1968 and married her beloved husband of 49 years, Bill, in 1972. Anne and Bill started a family in Braintree then moved to Abington after ten years where they have remained since.
Anne took care of her cherished daughter, Nikki, all of her life. This gave her a special bond and understanding for Special Education which Anne used at the North River Collaborative School for many years. She truly had countless fond memories of working there and its many students over the years.
Anne is the beloved wife of William Barstis of Abington, loving mother of Rich Barstis of Abington and the late Nikki Barstis, sister of Claire Rexford of Weymouth, Paul Rexford and his wife Sharon of Weymouth, Janice Rath of VT, and the late Alice Grant.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to the visiting hours for Anne on Sunday, May 2, 2021 from 3-6pm in the C. C. Shepherd Funeral Home located at 134 Pleasant St. (Columbian Sq.) Weymouth, MA. Family and friends will gather in the funeral home Monday morning at 9am for a Celebration of Life prior to the funeral mass which will take place at St. Francis Xavier Church, Weymouth at 10am.
