Obituary

Earl A. Lloyd 74, of Franklin, passed away, peacefully, at home, Thursday April 22, 2021, following a long battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (McDonald) Lloyd.

Born August 19, 1946 in Dighton, a son of the late William W. Lloyd, Jr. and Nancy E. (Chaffee) Lloyd, he was a longtime resident of Franklin.

A proud American, he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War, he attained the rank of PFC and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Vietnam Service Medal, and the Marksman Badge.

Earl was a retired truck driver.

Earl will be remembered for his generosity in sharing his knowledge, humor, and time with those around him. Whether cooking for a crowd, out on the family boat, or doing anything involving the outdoors he was a natural teacher.

He will be missed by all whose lives he touched, especially by his wife Barbara, children and grandchildren.

At his request there will be no services. A celebration of his life for family and friends will be held at his home at a later date.

Donations in Earl’s memory can be made to: Old Colony Hospice Philanthropy Office 341 Manley Street West Bridgewater, MA 02379 or OldColonyHospice.org
