Obituary

WORCESTER___Judith “Judy” Louise Buckroth-Landgren, 56 , born October 16, 1964 at the former St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester, Massachusetts passed away the morning of April 21, 2021 in the ICU unit of UMASS Memorial Medical Center – University Campus, peacefully surrounded by family and friends.

Judy was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes on October 16, 1969, her attempts at managing this disease for 51 years did not stop her from constantly learning and seeking new things. She learned braille and often tried new recipes and foods from places she had never been too. Her evenings were frequently spent watching the travel channel with a specific interest in supernatural and paranormal depictions. She also enjoyed planting herbs and flowers in her backyard, books on tape (CDs), the Rolling Stones, the beach, enjoying the sunshine on her back deck in the summer, and decorating for all holidays.

She spent time with friends and family as often as she could, entertaining in the home she and her husband Karl built together. She was a great cook and hostess; cards and dice were always played after dinner. Judy had a great sense of humor, having enjoyed all Mel Brooks movies, particularly “Young Frankenstein” which she quoted often while breaking into hysterics. Judy could make any situation better with her laugh and she was always there for her friends and family.

Judy was predeceased by her beloved husband, Karl, in July 2006. She leaves behind her sister, Andrea “Anj” K. and her husband, Wayne Roth-Ross of California; her beloved niece, Heather Hultquist and her wife, Sara; cousin Katrina M. Romanoff-Cooke and her husband Robert; dear friend and assistant, Lester Saltis; life-long best friend since kindergarten through high school at St. Mary’s, Ursula Banach. She also leaves behind siblings, Marcy L. and her husband Daniel Seldon of Colorado, Charles A. Buckroth of Massachusetts; her god-daughter, Amber M. Seldon; and niece, Kristal Seldon.

She was also predeceased by her beloved mother-in-law, Avis Landgren in 2017; her mother, Theresa V. Figurska-Buckroth in 2014; and sister, Eugenia “Gina” Marie Buckroth in 1986.
