Grazia “Grace” (Ciccolo) LaFace, 28 year resident of Saugus and formerly of the North End of Boston and Messina, Sicily, Italy, died peacefully at her home in Saugus Sunday, March 26, 2006, after a long illness. She was 96 years old.
Grazia was born in Cambridge, MA, on April 4, 1909, and her family was forced to move back to Italy during WWII. She grew up in Messina, Sicily, Italy, and attended schools there. Grazia was married to her husband, Giovanni, and had her 6 children in Italy before returning to the United States with her family. Grace was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Grazia was the beloved wife of the late Giovanni LaFace. She is the devoted mother of Franca Spadaro of Attleboro, Mary Musto of Lynn, Catherine Aloise of Saugus, Angela Cohane of Revere, Salvatore LaFace of West Roxbury and the late Giovani LaFace. Grazia was the loving grandmother of 22 grandchildren, the late Renaldo Musto and Ricardo LaFace and 50 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved daughter of the late Salvatore and Mary (Gianinno) Ciccolo.
Grazia’s funeral will be held from the Carr Funeral Home, 1159 Main Street, Melrose, on Thursday, March 30, 2006, at 8:45 a.m. followed by her Funeral Mass in St. Margaret’s Church, 431 Lincoln Avenue, Saugus, at 10:00 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours for Grazia will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, 2006. Burial will take place in Woodlawn Cemetery in Everett.
