Obituary

Janet LaVerne Dean, 64, lifelong Prosser resident passed into the loving arms of Jesus on April 18, 2021 at Hospice House in Kennewick.

Janet was born on July 29, 1956 to Basil Woodrow and Era LaVerne (Adcock) Dean in Prosser. During her high school years she was an active member of the drill team and enjoyed swimming. Janet graduated from Prosser High School with the Class of 1974. After graduation Janet married and started a family and ultimately was happily divorced three times. She worked at Cottage Court for eight years and then worked at Sandy’s Bloom Central until suffering a stroke which disabled her. Janet loved people and plants and both of her jobs enabled her to enjoy the best of both.

Janet was raised in the Prosser Church of God with her parents and siblings. She enjoyed gardening, growing house plants, ice coffee and was a wine enthusiast. She loved football and was an avid Seahawk fan. She loved her family and grandchildren and enjoyed many wonderful family gatherings.

Janet is survived by her children, Alicia Dewbre of Grandview, Megan (Brian) Miller of Kennewick, Dustin Traylor of Prosser and Molly (Jason) Townsend of Paterson; eight grandchildren, Hayley, Mason, Jaxon, McKenzie, Macy, Shane, Silas and Axel; and her great-granddaughter, Skylar. She is also survived by her sisters, Marcia (Brent) Petersen, Patty (Joe) Yahne, Anita (Terry) Chambers and Rhonda (Marshall) Edwards all of Prosser; brother, Terry (Nancy) Dean of Tampa, Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Basil and Era Dean and grandparents, Harley and Lois Adcock.

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 23rd at the Prosser Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House in Kennewick. You may leave a message for the family at www.Prosserfuneralhome.com
