WORCESTER___Germaine L. (Robert) Bachand, 86, formerly of 88 Kenberma Rd died Friday, March 24, 2006 at the University Commons. She was the daughter of the late Aurore and Richard Robert.
Germaine leaves a son, Gerard E. and his wife Lorraine A. Bachand of Cherry Valley; a brother, Norman Robert and his wife Marie of Worcester; a sister, Jeannette and her husband Peter LaPrad of Auburn. Germaine also leaves four grandchildren Cheryl A. Bachand of Cherry Valley; Robert G. Bachand and Nancy A. Colby both of Charlton and David G. Bachand of Brimfield; three great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Germaine was born in Worcester.
She graduated from Commerce High School and Fair Child Secretarial School. She worked for many years at Builder's Specialties in Worcester until she retired in 1982. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, Worcester. Germaine was an avid reader who enjoyed crafts, flowers, dolls and the "wonder and why's of everything." A lifelong learner, she had an intense interest in historical facts.
A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 28, 2006 in St. Joseph's Church, 35 Hamilton St, Worcester. A private family viewing will be Tuesday March 28 from 8:00 - 9:00 a.m. in DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St Worcester.
