New Bedford – Victor Gomes, age 75, of Dartmouth, passed away on Monday, April 19, 2021 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the beloved husband of Maria Graciete (Lameiro) Gomes.
Victor was born in Porto de Mos, Portugal to Manuel S. Gomes and Maria (Jesus) Gomes. He had worked for Mickey Madan as a sewing machine mechanic and later worked at A.F.C Cable for 26 years. He loved spending time with his family, and also enjoyed watching cowboy movies and accordion music.
Victor is survived by his loving wife, Maria “Graciete”; 2 children, Susan Ribeiro and her husband David and Steven Gomes and his wife Diane; grandchildren, Gabriela Dias, Sofia Dias and Madison Ribeiro. He is also survived by several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, along with several nieces and nephews.
Victor’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday evening, April 22, 2021 from 5:00 P.M. -8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will take place Friday morning in the funeral home, beginning at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in South Dartmouth Cemetery.
All attendees are required by current mandated restrictions to wear a face covering at all times, to social distance 6 feet and to please refrain from any close physical contact. Attendance in the funeral home may be limited in order to meet the mandated capacity restrictions and could result with a wait time outside of the funeral home.
