Obituary

CHICOPEE – James S. “Jay” Piquette, 64, of the Aldenville section of Chicopee, passed into Eternal Life on Monday, April 19, 2021 at the Chicopee Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Chicopee surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Holyoke on June 14, 1956, a beloved son of Shirley A. (Sullivan) Piquette of Chicopee and the late Roger M. Piquette who was Called Home on December 20, 2007. He was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Chicopee Comprehensive High School in 1974 and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. He was employed as a Mason for many years and had worked alongside his father with his business, Piquette & Stebbins Mason Contractors in Chicopee. He later worked for Chabot & Burnette Construction. An automotive enthusiast, he once owned his prized 1955 Chevrolet and his 1974 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray. In addition to his mother, he leaves his beloved wife, Sandra M. “Sandy” (LaPlante) Piquette; his two loving sons, Michael J. Piquette and Kevin D. Piquette of Chicopee; his two cherished grandchildren, Kayleen and Mason Piquette; his dear brother, David R. Piquette and his wife, Debra, of Belchertown; his three dear sisters, Lois A. Piquette, Brenda J. Prince and her husband, Bill, and Nancy M. Ayotte, all of Chicopee; his dear mother in law, Beverly A. (Frost) LaPlante of Chicopee; his dear brother in law, Frank T. LaPlante of Chicopee; his two dear sisters in law, Sharen A. Martel and her husband, Skip, of Chicopee and Patti A. Standen and her husband, John, of Saratoga, FL; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his beloved canine companion, his Beagle “Brandy” who passed away on April 13, 2021. His funeral services and burial will be private. There are no visiting hours. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
