Maria Tavares, of Medford, formerly of Cambridge, April 18th. Beloved daughter of the late Antonio and Maria do Carmo (Bothelo) Tavares. Sister of the late Dorothy Cabral and Maria do Carmo Maia. Aunt of Mary Carbone and her husband Peter of Medford and Ambrosina Vellozo and Alda Cabral, both of Portugal. She is also survived by several grandnieces and grandnephews. Maria was born in Portugal. She was raised and educated in Cambridge and has been a resident of Medford for over 30 years. For many years, she worked for the Boston University Library Department. Services and interment are private.
