Obituary

CHICOPEE – Roberto “Bobby” Rodriguez Ramirez, 80, of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 17, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by the care and comfort of his loving family. He was born in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico on August 16, 1940, a beloved son of the late Maximino and Felicita (Rodriguez) Ramirez. He moved to New York, NY with his family in 1949 where he was raised and educated. He served his country in the United States Army National Guard and attained the rank of Sergeant. He had worked as a mechanic at a book binding company in New York. He furthered his education and received a Certificate of Ordination on August 2, 1987 as a Minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and served as the Pastor of Tabernaculo de la Fe Church in New York for 30 years and retired in 2017. During his leisure time, he enjoyed fixing cars and tinkering around his home. He moved to Chicopee in 2020 where he lived the remainder of his life. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Ana (Velez) Ramirez. They were married on December 21, 1963 in New York City and were blessed with over 57 years of happiness together. He also leaves his five loving children, Roberto Ramirez, Jr. and his partner, Angela Ceballo, of East Stroudsburg, PA, Ana “Anita” Ramirez Negron and her husband, Jose Negron, of Chicopee, Aliza Miranda and Christine Ramirez, both of Bronx, NY and Katieann Ramirez and her husband, Taino Rivera of New York City, NY; his five cherished grandchildren, twins Maria and Esai Ramirez, Josiah Negron, Jeremiah Miranda and Andrew Rivera; his three dear brothers, Edwin Rodriguez Ramirez of Brandon, FL, Walter Ramirez of North Carolina and Miguel A. Ramirez and his wife, Halina, of Brandon, FL; his two dear sisters, Carmen J. Ramirez and her partner, Luis Matos, of Worcester and Carmen Ramirez Santillan and her husband, Fred Santillan, of Brandon, FL; his dear sister in law, Erika Elvira Tovar Ramirez of Chicago, IL; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving step mother, Zenobia (Ortiz) Ramirez; his dear brother, Adalberto Ramirez; his dear sister, Claribel Ramirez; and his two dear sisters in law, Edith Alvarez Ramirez and Migdalia Ramirez. His family will receive friends on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 11 a.m. at the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 10 a.m.). The parking lot and main entrance of the funeral home are located in the rear at 20 Lafayette Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. His Burial will follow the Prayer Service at Fairview Cemetery, Abbey Memorial Drive, Chicopee, MA 01020.
