Obituary

“Tall” Paul A. Woodward, 67, of East Bridgewater, Massachusetts, passed away on April 18, 2021 at Carney Hospital due to complications from COVID 19.

Paul was born August 13, 1953, in Brockton, Massachusetts. He was the son of the late Arthur C. and Phyllis (Geary) (Flavell) Woodward. He was a graduate of East Bridgewater High School, Class of 1971.

Paul was a member of Teamsters Local 25 for 40 years. He was an oil truck driver for nearly three decades, and for the past nine years drove for the Teamsters Local 25 Movie Division. Some of his favorite projects he worked on were “Grown Ups 2”, “The Heat”, “The Judge”, “The Forger”, “The Finest Hours”, “Ghostbusters”, and “Knives Out”.

Paul had a great love of life. He loved to go snowmobiling, boating, jet-skiing, driving antique cars, and spending time with family. He had a second home in Bridgton, Maine and also loved to vacation in Bermuda and Cape Cod. In his later years he enjoyed raising and caring for many Lop and Rex bunnies with his daughter in a venture he called “Woody’s Wabbits”. He was very involved in the local community at establishments such as The Joppa Market and Peaceful Meadows, where he made many friends. He had a great love of sports and was a passionate Boston sports fan. He had a great sense of humor and loved telling stories to friends and family.

He was the loving husband of Pat (DiPasqua) Woodward, whom he was married to for 25 years. They were married on April 18, 1996, and raised their family in East Bridgewater. He was the devoted father of his son Redmond and daughter Harley. He is survived by brothers Jack Flavell, Kenneth Woodward, and Scott Woodward, along with many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved cocker spaniel Mookie.

All are cordially invited to attend his visitation at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 at the rotary circle), Whitman on Friday April 23 from 4-7 pm. Funeral services will be held on Saturday April 24 at 9 am in the Holy Ghost Church, 518 Washington Street, Whitman, MA.
