Scott J. Nims

LOWELL: Scott J. Nims, age 54, a 26-year resident of the Belvidere area of Lowell, passed away at home, one day prior to his 55th birthday, in the care of his family and Hospice, on Friday, April 16, 2021, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.
He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Norton) Nims, with whom he celebrated their 22nd wedding anniversary on August 8, 2020.
Born in Lynn on April 17, 1966, he was the son of Deborah Wolti of Myrtle Beach, SC and the late Robert B. Nims.
Scott was raised in Danvers and attended local schools.
Prior to his illness, he was employed for 12 years at the Tewksbury Hospital, where he worked as a dispatcher.
Scott was an avid follower of the Boston Red Sox, New England Patriots, Boston Celtics and especially loved the Boston Bruins.
In addition to his wife and mother, Scott is survived by two step-children, Thomas B. Furlong of Billerica, and Melissa M. Malandain and her husband Franck of Billerica; six grandchildren, Brian T. Furlong of Nashua, NH, Tyler N. Malandain of Ashburnham, Gabrielle S., Austin P., Nathan T. and Dustin W. Malandain all of Billerica; his step-mother, Dawn M. Nims of Wilmington; his step-father, Drew Pearson of Myrtle Beach, SC; three brothers, David Nims of Needham, Jared Nims and his fiancée Alexa of Salem, NH, and Kyle Nims of Wilmington; also many extended family members and friends.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, April 22nd, from 4-7 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Masks, social distancing and gathering limitations are necessary.
