Obituary

Judith (Teel) Desrosiers, age 75, passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 14, 2021 at Holyoke Medical Center. She was born on June 19, 1945 in Springfield, a daughter of the late Clarence S. and Marion (Simon) Teel. Judith and her husband Merrill were the proud owners of Desrosiers Floor Covering in Chicopee for over 25 years before they retired.

Smart, funny and full of wit, Judy loved her family and numerous friends. Judy had a kind and generous heart. Her presence lit up the room along with her infectious laugh. Among her greatest joys was her abundance of love brought to her by her seven grandchildren. There is no doubt she was their biggest cheerleader. Judy was a talented artist and painter. She also enjoyed reading, especially mysteries. She and Merrill were fortunate enough to travel to many places in the world and they especially enjoyed cruises with their friends and family.

She is survived by her beloved husband Merrill Desrosiers of Holyoke; one son Merrill Desrosiers Jr. and his wife Cathy of West Springfield; two daughters, Linda Solimine and her husband Glen of Florida and Sharon Molleur and her husband Tom of Holyoke; one sister, Marianne Gallerani and her husband Richard of East Longmeadow and seven beloved grandchildren, Joseph, Mary Cate, Phillip, Carolyn, Peter, Nicole and Corrie. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, April 20, from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at the Grise Funeral Home, 280 Springfield St, Chicopee. A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, April 21 at 10:00 AM in St Paul’s Episcopal Church, 485 Appleton St, Holyoke, followed by burial in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holyoke Creative Arts Center (www.holyokecac.org/donate-now).
