WORCESTER__Rosalina Russell, 73, of Worcester died Thursday, April 15, 2021 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She is survived by her brother City Councilor George J. Russell and his wife Nancy of Worcester, two nieces, Nichole Starr and Caroline Russell, a nephew, John Russell, III, 7 great nieces and nephews, and many cousins. She is predeceased by a brother, Jack Russell, and a nephew, Jason Russell. She was born in Worcester the daughter of John F. and Lillian Russell.
Ms. Russell graduated from Worcester schools and had a 35-year long career in medical billing at UMass Memorial Healthcare prior to her retirement. She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Maronite Catholic Church. She was active in political campaigns, volunteering for her church, and fundraising events for St. Jude’s Hospital. She enjoyed fashion, shopping, gardening, and baking for her family. She loved to spend her time with her friends and cousins and always looked forward to holidays with her nieces and nephews.
There are no calling hours. A funeral with a Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 at 10:30am in Our Lady of Mercy Maronite Catholic Church, 341 June Street following current guidelines for wearing masks, distancing, and occupancy. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Lady of Mercy Maronite Church, 341 June St., Worcester, MA 01602.
