Obituary

Margaret “Peggy” (Wood) Blood, 91, of Wayland, died peacefully and comfortably on April 14, 2021 at the Mary Ann Morse Nursing and Rehab Center following a period of declining health.
She was born in Camden, New Jersey on November 12, 1929 the daughter of the late Robert N. Wood and Dorothy C. (Cary) Wood.
Peggy was the devoted wife for 62 years of the late George H. Blood who died on April 21, 2015.
She is survived by her loving and caring Son, Robert W. “Bob” Blood of Weston. She was the mother of the late Deborah G. Blood who died on March 1, 2010. Peggy is also survived by her sister Molly Logan of Wilmington, DE and several nieces and nephews.
Peggy has been a resident of Wayland for over 64 years and spent her formative years in Moorestown, New Jersey. She was a graduated of the Westtown School (Quaker School) in West Chester, PA with the Class of 1947. She attended and received her BA degree from Wheaton College with the Class of 1951.
In her earlier years, she was associated with the New England Telephone Company, The Silver Gallery in Needham and for many years with the Library at Bentley College. Peggy had a very outgoing and sunny disposition and reached out to everyone that she met. She always had a great outlook on life.
Peg and George, along with their children, enjoyed many seasons at their home in West Chatham and summer activities. Peg and George square danced with the Fairs and Squares for many years and spent time in Florida during their retirement.
Peg was devoted to her Quaker faith and upbringing and was associated with the Meeting House in Wellesley and on the Cape.
She loved to read, especially mystery novels, and loved to watch figure skating. Peg will be fondly remembered and loved by all who knew her.
Due to COVID-19, services for Peggy will be held at a later date. She will be interred next to her husband and daughter at the family lot in Lakeview Cemetery in Wayland.
In lieu of flowers, her family kindly suggests that gifts in Peggy’s memory may be sent to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd, #400, Waltham, MA 02451.
