William Kenneth Burke, 71, of Dartmouth died March 25, 2006 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
He was the husband of the late Carol A. (Feldon) Burke.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Kenneth and Veronica (Corey) Burke, he lived in Dartmouth most of his life.
Mr. Burke was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Dartmouth.
He was formerly employed as a mechanical engineer at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Newport, RI for 35 years until his retirement.
Mr. Burke served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956.
Survivors include 2 sons, Daniel J. Burke of Dartmouth and John M. Burke, and his wife Kayla, of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter, Ann-Marie Richard, and her husband Michael, of Plymouth; 3 sisters, Mary Burke and Barbara Gillis, both of Needham and Kathleen Mello of Milford; 6 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late James Burke and the brother of the late Richard Burke and Edward Burke.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Wednesday, March 29th at 10 AM. Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Church, Dartmouth at 11 AM.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Visiting hours Tuesday, March 26th from 4-7 PM.
Interment South Dartmouth Cemetery.
