Moultonboro-Connie DePaola, 67, of 21 Deer Run Lane Road died on Sunday morning, March 26, 2006 at her home surrounded by her family after a willed fought battle with cancer.
Connie was the daughter of the late Godfredo and Agapita (Aguilar) Verduzco. She was born in Martinez, California on November 8, 1938. She was raised and schooled in Pittsburg, California. Connie had been a resident of the Lakes Region for 20 years coming from California.
She was a bookkeeper for many healthcare institutions, including John Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, retiring from Kaiser Hospital in California.
Connie was a communicant of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Meredith. Her whole life was devoted to her family, constantly thinking of others before herself.
Besides her parents two sisters, Mary Lou Suniga, and Helen Verduzco, and two brothers, Adrian Verduzco, and Raymond Verduzco predeceased Connie.
Connie is survived by her loving companion of 26 years, Richard A. Hayes of Moultonboro, three daughters, Nicole DePaola of Meredith, Pilar Okker and her husband Huib of Meredith, and Kira Meade and her husband Sean of Fort Bragg, CA, three brothers, Al Verduzco, Louie Verduzco, and, Anthony Verduzco all of California, five sisters, Lola Aiello, Carmen Collins, Margo Gallegos, Isabelle Neugebauer and Antoinette Tracy all of California, three grandchildren, R.J. Noble, Lilly Blossom Okker, and Alyssa Raxter all of Meredith. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive Connie.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday March 29, 2006 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 300 Route 25, Meredith at 10:00 a.m.; Rev. Richard B. Thompson, pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Family and friends were invited to attend. There were no visiting hours.
