Maria U. (da Silva) dos Santos, 56, of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 13, 2021, after a courageous battle with cancer surrounded by her beloved husband, Izaltino, with whom she had shared twenty four years of Marriage and her loving family.
A daughter of Maria Celeste (dos Santos) da Silva of Lowell and the late Floriberto da Silva, she was born April 3, 1965, in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, and came to the United States as a child settling in Lowell with her family, and making it her lifelong home. She was educated in the local schools, attending the Edith Nourse Rogers School and graduating from Lowell High School, Class of 1984. She was a communicant of St. Anthony’s Church and was a member of the Holy Ghost Society.
Maria worked at Beneficial Financial/HSBC as a loan officer for over 23 years before she left her career to be a caretaker for her mother. She was well known at Beneficial and was a familiar face, and had helped many people get loans over the years. She loved traveling, especially to their home in Brazil, and enjoyed the beach and loved to play cards with her dear mother. She always loved spending time in her flower garden and was also a great baker.
In addition to her loving husband, Izaltino, and her dear mother, Celeste, she is survived by her stepson, Bernard dos Santos of Lowell as well as many cousins, aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends.

Her Funeral Mass will be offered at ST. ANTHONY’S CHURCH, 893 Central Street, Lowell at 12 Noon. Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
