Diamante E. “Diamond” Tutela, died Saturday morning at the Courtyard Nursing Center, Medford. He was 93.
Mr. Tutela was born and raised in Boston’s North End, the son of the late Domenic and the late Elizabeth (Musto) Tutela. Diamond lived in Somerville for over 40 years before moving to Medford. An active member of the Boston Sons of Italy, Diamond was a real estate developer.
Married to Florence L (Trebino) for over 70 years, the couple knew each other from the age of 13.
He was the beloved husband of Florence (Trebino). He was a devoted father to Sylvia-Jean Butera and her husband Dominic of Medford, Elaine E. Cesario and her husband Raymond of Reading, Diamond C. Tutela and his wife Leila of Stoneham, the late Barbara Accaputo and Vincent Tutela. He was a loving grandfather to Raymond, Dominic, James, Dianne, David, Michelle, John, Joy, Julia and loving great-grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren. He was devoted uncle and Godfather to Carol Ferraguto and many other loving nieces and nephews. He was a dear brother to the late Vincent Tutela, Adeline Krofton, Edith Garabino, Alfred Tutela, Domenic Tutela and Elizabeth Miele.
Family and friends may visit Monday 4 - 8 at the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. A funeral mass will be offered at St. Francis Of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, Medford, Tuesday at 10 AM. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
