Life Salute of Meghan E. Higgins

Lebanon, Maine: Meghan E. Higgins, 37 years old, passed peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on April 10, 2021 after a brief illness.

Meghan was born in Portland Maine on January 20, 1984 to John H. Higgins and Valarie A. (Rouillard) Higgins. She graduated with honors from Sanford High School in 2003 and served a short stint in the United States Air Force. Meghan was very outgoing and has countless friends far and wide who love her. Her laugh was contagious and her sense of humor could only be matched by her dad, John. She was the kindest soul and loved people with all of her being, her bright social butterfly personality just had a way of attracting people who could not help but fall in love with her. She had a profound effect on everyone who met her, she is unforgettable.

Meghan's biggest love, besides her love for her family, was for animals and nature. Over the years, her mom and dad raised the strays that Meghan always seemed to find and bring home or who followed her home, animals always knew she was a kind and caring soul. Meghan always loved to sit by the campfire to the wee hours with friends and family, riding motorcycles and ATV's, she loved camping, visiting her beloved aunt Jackie, uncle Danny and cousin Frankie in Camp Ellis and on their boat the "Stan Allen", and the large Higgins and Rouillard/Lavallee Family gatherings. Meghan was an excellent cook and she loved to cook for friends and family, a gift her mom passed down to her. Meghan was also a very gifted artist, she loved drawing, painting, photography and writing poetry.

Meghan was predeceased by her beloved great grandparents George and Marie Rouillard, her grandfather Maynard Higgins, her "Nana" Alicia Thompson Phillips, her uncle David Higgins, her cousin Jon Rouillard and Jeff Moreau, her beloved Chihuahua, Chalupa and her beloved Olde English Bulldog, Bubba.

Meghan is survived by her parents, John and Valarie Higgins and her 4 yr old son Wyatt Higgins, of Lebanon, Maine, her grandmother Doris Higgins (Sanford, ME), her grandfather Andre Rouillard (West Palm Beach, FL), her great aunt and great uncle Rita and Raymond Lavallee (Sanford, ME), the love of her life Gary Utgard and his daughter Stella Utgard (Shapleigh, ME), her uncle Danny and aunt Jackie Higgins and her cousin Frankie Higgins (all of Camp Ellis, ME), her uncle Tim Higgins and cousins Joey Higgins and Billy Higgins (all of Sanford, ME), uncles Jim Higgins and Rui Monteiro-Claro (Eliot, ME & Portugal) and Carl Higgins (Everett, WA), her aunt Joanne Higgins and uncle Paul Zietz and cousins Dusty Zietz, Hailey Zietz, Sarah (Zietz) Koehne, Sandy Zietz, Sebastian "Seabass" Zietz and Ginger Zietz, all of Kauai, HI, her aunts Christine Higgins (Eliot, ME), Gloria Higgins (Biddeford, ME), Mona (Higgins) Coffin and uncle Roy Coffin (Sanford, ME) Diane Higgins and uncle John Payeur (Shapleigh, ME), Robin Pierce and her husband Joe Pierce (Saco, ME), her best friend since childhood Cortney Caron (Sanford, ME), and her large extended family and countless friends.

Meghan had the biggest, kindest heart ever, her spirit is so big and so bright she could not be contained in this world, YHWH has plans for her in His Kingdom. Until we meet again on the other side in YHWH's eternal kingdom, we love you Meghan, forever and a day, Dad, Mom & Wyatt

The family asks for no flowers, a fund is being set up for the benefit of her son Wyatt Higgins, donations for his benefit can be made to John and Valarie Higgins at 364 Little River Rd, Lebanon ME 04027; or donations can be made to your local animal shelter in her memory, she loved animals so much.

Meghan’s service will be on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 1pm at the Lebanon-North Berwick Baptist Church, Little River Road, Lebanon Maine
