Obituary

Mr. Randall C. Murphy “Curtis” age 60, of Lowell, Massachusetts died unexpectedly on Tuesday April 6th, 2021.
Randall “Curtis” Murphy was born on September 15, 1960 in Lowell, Mass. He is survived by his parents Glenda J. Horne-Murphy, Mother, of Lowell, Mass and Ralph M. Murphy Jr, father, and Sandra Murphy, step-mother of Dracut, Mass. Curtis is the oldest of seven siblings, and was predeceased by his sister Carla “Pepsi” Murphy. He is survived by three brothers and two sisters. Brian Murphy in Portsmouth, NH, William Murphy, Lowell, Mass and Christopher Murphy, Dracut, Mass, Tonita Heinrich, of Concord, Cali, and Katrina Timothee of Fitchburg, Mass. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Curtis was a spirited member of the Greater Lowell community, an avid photographer, traveler, and a sincere, compassionate Lowellian. After graduating from Lowell Vocational Technical High School, he attended the University of Lowell in Business Administration. During his study Curtis would join the fraternity Delta Kappa Phi and become a member of the Black Student Union. Curtis would go on to spend over 30 years as a banking professional. He also dedicated time to the community, both as a proud NAACP activist and a committed Merrimack Valley Lodge 1586 treasurer.

Curtis was an exceptional man. He was beloved by his friends, family, and greater community. He will be missed tremendously by us all.
