Obituary

Barry L. Tremblay 63, of Franklin, passed away suddenly, at his home, Monday April 12, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Catherine F. (Freitas) Tremblay, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage.

Born August 26, 1957, in Leominster, a son of the late John R. and Betty W. (Stevens) Tremblay, he was a former longtime resident of Dedham, before moving to Franklin 3 years ago.

He was raised in Townsend, was a graduate of North Middlesex Regional High School and received his associates’ degree from Northeastern University. Barry worked in the medical field for many years and also was an educator at Clark University. His most favorite job was as a kayak instructor for LL Bean at Legacy Place, Dedham.

A proud American he served in the United States Navy.

Barry was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He ran numerous Boston Marathons and the Marine Corps Marathon.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Christina L Tremblay of Providence, RI, Lauren T. Tremblay and Barry L. Tremblay, Jr. both of Franklin, a sister Robin Hotaling of PA, & a brother Brandon W. Tremblay of FL.

Also surviving are his cherished grandchildren, John J. Tremblay and Katarina Gould.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his calling hours Friday Apr. 16th, in the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. from 3-5:30PM.

A prayer service will follow at 5:30PM.

His interment will be held privately.
