TEWKSBURY: Bella M. (Comtois) Purcell, age 88, a resident of Tewksbury for 60 years, passed away at the Lawrence General Hospital on Sunday, April 11, 2021, following a lengthy illness.
She was the beloved wife of 52 years to Robert G. Purcell, who passed away May 16, 2012.
Born in Marlboro on April 25, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Omer Comtois and the late Ida (Houle) (Comtois) Lincoln.
Bella was raised in Marlboro, attended Marlboro schools and graduated from Marlboro High School.
She resided in Waltham until moving to Tewksbury in 1961, and was a communicant of St. Williams Parish.
Bella was employed by the former Stuarts Department Store in Tewksbury until her retirement.
She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. Bella loved attending games and was a season ticket holder for 40 years.
Bella is survived by her son, Robert G. Purcell, Jr. and his companion Catherine Donovan of Tewksbury; her brother, Walter Lincoln and wife Denise of Northborough, and Walter’s children, Christian and Jonathan; and her extended family, Dana Meads, Lisa Marcopoulos, Nancy Coe, Cassandra Meads, Christine and Nicholas Marcopoulos, Jayden, Damian, Matthew, Stephanie, Sean, Jessica, Angela, Avery and Kwan.
Bella was the sister of the late John Lincoln, Donald, Francis and Jeanette Comtois, and sister-in-law of the late Jean M. (Purcell) Wheeler.
Calling hours were Tuesday, April 20th, from 4-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee Street, Tewksbury. Graveside services will be held SATURDAY, MAY 8, AT 12 NOON AT THE TEWKSBURY CEMETERY, 172 EAST STREET, TEWKSBURY. Please Omit Flowers.
