Rose J. Picchi, 98

Rose J. (Spiezio) Picchi, age 98, of North Attleboro, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 12, 2021 at the Life Care Center in Attleboro. She was the beloved wife of the late Armand R. Picchi, Sr, who died on October 30, 1988.

Born in Norton, MA on February 4, 1923, she was a loving daughter of the late Ralph and Josephine (Russo) Spiezio.

Rose grew up in Foxborough and was educated in Foxborough Public School. She had made her home in North Attleboro for the past thirty years and was a former thirty-seven-year resident of Mansfield.

Prior to retiring, Mrs. Picchi had worked at the former Merckens Chocolate Company in Mansfield. She retired in 1984 following nineteen years of dedicated service.

Rose’s adoring family, whom she loved dearly, were truly the focal point of her life. She was a communicant of both Saint Mary’s Church in North Attleboro and Mansfield, was an active participant at both the Mansfield and North Attleboro Senior Centers and was a former Red Hat Society member.

Rose will always be remembered for her remarkable sense of humor and the ability to make others around her happy and laugh. She also enjoyed reading, crafts and crocheting.

She is survived by her devoted children: Rocky R. Picchi of Virginia, Armand R. Picchi, Jr. and his wife Judy of Franklin, Rosemarie A. Doucette of Virginia, who was pre-deceased by her husband Ronald Doucette and Joel A. Picchi and his wife Karen of Douglas. She was the sister of the late Louis R. Spiezio, Sr. and Annie Billeri. She is also survived by her cherished 9 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, as well as her loving nieces and nephews.

Her Funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Friday, April 16th at 11:00 A.M. in Saint Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will follow at Saint Mary’s in Mansfield.

Visitation will be held prior to the services on Friday morning from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.


In lieu of flowers, Rose’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
