Retired Tewksbury Public School Teacher


TEWKSBURY: Judith E. “Judi” (Ford) Cole, age 70, a resident of Tewksbury for 51 years, passed away at her home in the care of her family and Hospice on Thursday, April 8. 2021, following a hard-fought battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

She was the beloved wife of 48 years to William A. Cole, who passed away on December 30, 2018.

Born in Cambridge on July 23, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Clifford A. Ford and the late Eleanor B. (Cross) Ford.

“Judi” was raised in Townsend, and graduated from North Middlesex Regional High School.

Following high school, she attended Middlesex Community College where she received her A.S. Degree in Education. She later attended Lowell State College, where she received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Education.

Prior to her illness, she was employed as a teacher by the Tewksbury Public Schools. Judi taught elementary school at the North Street, Dewing, Trahan and Heath Brook schools. In addition, she operated an online toy store known as Discovery Toys.

She enjoyed reading, birdwatching, and especially loved the company of her children and grandchildren.

Judi is survived by her children, Scott W. Cole of Manchester, NH, Kathryn M. Alonis and her husband Kevin of Merrimack, NH, and Jeffrey A. Cole and his wife Allison of Tewksbury; her grandchildren, Katherine, Olivia, Caitlin, Praya, and William Cole, and Alexander Alonis. She was the sister of Janet E. Cote and her late husband Robert of Pepperell, and the late Joyce A. Partner.

Family and friends will be received Friday, April 16, from 5-8 p.m. at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Graveside service will be held Saturday, April 17, at 1 p.m. at Tewksbury Cemetery, 172 East St., Tewksbury. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery. Please Omit Flowers. Donations honoring her memory may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation, www.michaeljfox.org. Covid-19 guidelines of Masks, social distancing, and gathering limitations are necessary at all venues.
