Alfred E. Flanders, 77, of Londonderry, NH died Saturday March 25, 2006 at his home. Mr. Flanders was born in Manchester, NH on September 9, 1928 a son of the late Harry F. and Catherine N. (Cashion) Flanders. Mr. Flanders has resided in Londonderry since 1962, formerly living in Bedford, NH. He was a US Army veteran having served in Japan during WWII. Mr. Flanders was employed as a truck driver for the Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Nashua, NH along with several other companies in the area. In more recent years he operated Flanders Excavating in Londonderry and put in roads, completed work around the Londonderry High School and helped to install baseball fields for Babe Ruth.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Rita R. (Boisvert) Flanders of Londonderry, four sons, Mark Flanders of Londonderry, Alan Flanders of Hilton Head Island, SC David Flanders of Weare, NH, James Flanders of Pelham, NH, three daughters, AnnMary Dinsmore of Weare, Julia Flanders of Londonderry, Lisa Flanders of Sanford, ME, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, three sisters, Dorothy Nadeau of Salem, NH, Roberta Gendron of Bedford, Patricia Haggerty of Manchester, also numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his two brothers.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10:00am on Tuesday March 28, 2006 in St. Mark Church, corner of South Rd. and Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Burial followed in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Donald St., Bedford. Calling hours were on Monday from 4 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry.
