Fred Keniston, 79, a lifelong resident of Medford, passed away peacefully on April 8th, from a battle with colon cancer. Fred was a sports fan and an avid card player and loved to spend time with his friends. He was kind and loved to make people laugh. He was a wonderful Dad, son, brother, uncle and friend. He lived life to the fullest and loved his children and grandchildren. We will forever be grateful to be part of his loving family circle.
Fred is the son of the late Joseph Sr. and Ester Keniston (Withers) and the loving father of Fred Keniston, Jr. and his partner Caroline Taylor of Litchfield, NH, Paige Durant and her husband Thomas of Tewksbury, MA, Sheri Ritchie and her husband Thomas of Dracut, MA, Suzanne Martorana and her late husband James Martorana of Windham, NH and Todd Keniston and his wife Heather of St. Augustine, Florida. Fred leaves behind 8 grandchildren; Chelsea Turcotte, Breanne Ritchie (Bjorkman), Samantha Durant, Jake Durant, Jayce Martorana, Braydon Martorana, Lucas Keniston and Liam Keniston and his only great grandchild, Indie Bjorkman. He leaves behind his loving partner, Phyllis Gondolfe. He was the loving brother of Marion and the late Tony Minchella of Springfield, Barbara and the late Joseph Pelosi of Malden, the late Joseph Keniston Jr. and his wife Mary of Medford, Margaret and the late George Clary of Billerica, Charles and Peggy Keniston of Billerica, the late Richard and his wife Brenda Keniston of Malden, and the late Robert Keniston. Fred leaves behind a number of nieces and nephews and many friends that will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit Fred’s family on Monday, April 12th from 4 through 7 PM at the Dello Russo Family Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford. Social distancing protocols will be in place during all services.
