Florence Frances (Main) Smith, age 76, of Tacoma Court, Groton, passed away peacefully Saturday morning at her home with her family at her side.
She was born in Mystic on March 16, 1930 the daughter of Alfred E. and Phebe Main. She was the longtime companion of the late Wallace H. Tetlow.
Florence was employed as a welder at Electric Boat for 16 years before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing bingo, and will be remembered as a caring mother, devoted to her family.
She is survived by her children, Alfred Kaminsky and Lois Caswell of No. Stonington, Kathy Rodriguez of Uncasville, and Larry, Albert, and Tammy Smith, all of Groton; a sister, Phoebe Smith of Ashaway, RI, 9 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by two grandchildren, Tina Seigmann and Joshua Caswell.
He family will greet relatives and friends at The Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl Street, Historic downtown Mystic on Tuesday from 5-7pm. Her funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday at 10am at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Barnett, officialting. Burial will be at Elm Grove Cemetery.
