Doris Marie (Stamm) Nelson Kane, 88, of Chesterfield, died April 5, 2021 at her residence after an extended illness.
She was born September 18, 1932, in Anderson, the daughter of Floyd and Gertrude (Richards) Stamm.
She worked a brief time at General Motors, then Eckstein's House of Trophies, Target and Chesterfield Pharmacy. She loved to read and read her Bible daily. She enjoyed family times, swing dancing and was an avid euchre player.
Doris is survived by her three daughters, Cynthia (Larry) Miller, Debbie Huffman and Rita (Mike) Hoskins; stepson, John P. (Susan) Kane; her sister, Dorothy Farmer; five grandchildren, Kenra Reed, Bryce (Carrie) Bale, Amanda (Dane) Vander Haar, Mikka (Patrick) Baker and Allen Huffman; three-step-grandchildren, Rebekah (Daniel) Levy, Brendan Kane and Ben Kane; ten great-grandchildren, Weston, Makayla, Skye, Evah, Jacsen, Cambell Jo, Owen, Rebekah, Brendan and Jason; numerous nieces, nephews and her beloved dog, Gracie.
Doris was preceded in death by two husbands, Kenneth O. Nelson and John B. Kane; daughter, Brenda Bale and eight siblings and her parents.
Services will be 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Chesterfield Christian Church with Pastor Ned Clark officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the church.
Contributions may be given to American Cancer Society or Chesterfield Christian Church.
