Obituary


Aline A. (Lauzon) Clish age 97 originally of Brockton, died peacefully Sunday April 4, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center, surrounded by loving family. She was affectionately known as “Moe” to family and friends and was the devoted wife of the late George W. Clish. Aline was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Henry Oswald Lauzon and Imelda (Turcotte) Lauzon. Aline lived in Brockton, East Bridgewater and Mashpee and was a graduate of Sacred Heart School in Brockton and a 1942 graduate of Brockton High School.

Aline was part of the “Greatest Generation”, growing up during the Great Depression and working long hours at a Brockton shoe factory during World War II.

Aline returned to school and earned her Associates Degree in nursing from Massasoit Community College in 1975 and became a Registered Nurse. She worked at the Goddard Hospital, East Bridgewater VNA and was a Camp Nurse for Boy Scouts of America (BSA) Camp Child and BSA Camp Squanto. Aline was also employed as a State Hospital Surveyor for many years, before retiring.

Aline enjoyed crocheting, genealogy research, translating French/English, camping, traveling cross-country with her husband, playing whist and other card games. As a Senior Net Volunteer at Massasoit Community College, she enjoyed directing, organizing and teaching computer skills to senior citizens. She volunteered for many years for the Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and the Boy Scouts. Aline also volunteered in the East Bridgewater School System as an aid for many years and during winters in Jacksonville, Florida as an aid in her Granddaughter’s classroom. Aline was a devout Roman Catholic who volunteered in many capacities, including Pastoral Care, Liturgical, Hospitality, Parish Store and more. Aline received recognition from the Archdiocese as well as BSA with the presentation of several awards for her many years of dedicated service, including the Silver Fawn Award in 1971 (the highest award possible for a woman in scouting).

Aline will be remembered as a bright, caring and practical woman who was strong and dignified. Her family meant everything to her and she was proud of their accomplishments.

Aline was the mother of Michael Clish of Ft. Atkinson, WI; Kathleen Barris and her husband George of E. Bridgewater, Patrick Clish and his wife Deborah of E. Bridgewater, Daniel Clish and his wife Terry of Jacksonville, FL; Timothy Clish and his wife Susan of Taunton and Kerry Clish and his wife Chantal of Tega Cay, SC. She leaves many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and was the sister of Gloria (Lauzon) Cesarini of Brockton and the late Alvin and Henry Lauzon.

Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Friday April 9, 2021 from 4-7 PM. The procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30 AM for a funeral Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 10:30 AM. She will be interred with her late Husband George at the National Cemetery in Bourne on Monday, April 12 at 1:45 PM. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed in the funeral home and in church.
