Obituary

DeFILIPPO, Gloria J. (Michaud) “Glo” of Plainville, formerly of Dedham, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph D. DeFilippo. Survived by her daughter Jeannine Scarsciotti, husband Matthew and grandsons Ethan and Colby of Wrentham, MA; her son Joseph DeFilippo, wife Andria, grandson Aiden and granddaughter Heather of Norton, MA; her son Mark DeFilippo, wife Amy and grandsons Luigi and Dominic of Norfolk, MA; and her daughter Jennifer Donegan, partner John, her grandson Colin and granddaughters Mia and Cassie of Plainville MA; her sister Carolyn Riordan and her husband Paul of Dedham, MA; her brother Thomas Michaud of Dedham, MA.

Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (“Grams”), sister, aunt and friend to many. Gloria loved most to be with her family. She always wanted to gather with her family whether at cookouts, dinners, coffee time or traveling. Even with her crazy, loud grandchildren, she would rather be surrounded by the chaos than spend quiet time alone. Gloria was especially close to her twin sister Carolyn. They shared a bond only twins would understand. They were together all the time shopping, out to eat and traveling. When they could not be together you would find them on the phone multiple times a day.

Gloria became a dental assistant after graduating high school and worked until her and Joe started their family. She then dedicated her time to raising her family and eventually returned to the profession she loved. She loved to watch Hallmark, read, shop and travel. Gloria loved to help people and contributed to many charities, and had an especially soft heart for children and animals. Gloria always had a smile on her face and had a “glass half full” attitude, no matter what came her way she was always positive. She will be dearly missed by all those who were fortunate enough to know her.
