Obituary

SACO- Donald A. Hanson, 84 yrs. young, born in Hollis, Maine, June 24, 1936, passed peacefully at his home, beside his wife and two sisters on April 2, 2021.
Donald was a hard worker, a jack of all trades, from a meat cutter to a truck driver. He was a great dancer, loved that Country Music, he loved dancing the Polka with anyone that could keep up with him. He loved the outdoors- he was an avid hunter, and enjoyed fishing and canoeing. In his early years he would be involved at Deer Pond for canoe races for many summers. He loved to spend time with his families, on the Saco River, a family camp, where he taught his children how to swim, canoe, and water ski, even with one ski. He was co-owner of the High Pine Market in Wells for a few years.
He met Noreen at the Westbrook American Legion, looking for a dance partner. They both enjoyed golfing together during the summer months. He belonged to the Biddeford Alliance Organization, The Waterboro Eagles, where he loved the challenge of playing in the Cribbage Games. He also was a Mason and a Shriner.
He is survived by his wife, Noreen Hanson, Saco, Sisters; Ruth Jones, Waterboro, Jean Mooers, Dayton. His Children; Deb Coady & Husband Jim, Wells, Bruce Hanson, & wife Lisa, Rumford, Donavon Hanson & wife Stephanie, Lamont, FL , Kathy Perry, & husband Randy, Waterboro, Sonja Hanson, LeCanto, FL, Kimberly DiMauro, East Haddam, CT. He has 13 Grandchildren, 12 Gr. Grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Predeceased: Brothers; William Hanson, Goodwin Hanson, Sisters; Gertrude Harmon, Anna Blake, Nellie Colello, and Susan Spiller.

A graveside service with Masonic Funeral Honors will be held on Saturday April 10 at 10 AM at the South Buxton (Tory Hill) Cemetery, River Road, Buxton.
