Claire I. (Turgeon) Machado, 81, of New Bedford, passed away at St. Luke’s Hospital on April 1, 2021. She was the beloved wife and best friend of the late Paul Machado with whom she shared 51 beautiful years of marriage.
Born in New Bedford, Claire was the daughter of the late Theodore and Ceda (Mandeville) Turgeon. She was a graduate of St. Anthony High School. She worked many years for the City of New Bedford and as a Court Officer at New Bedford Superior and Third District Courts.
She is survived by her five children, Theodore Machado and his wife Sharon of New Bedford, Sharon Hudson of Wisconsin, Debra Machado of New Bedford, Christine Tetreault and her husband Robert of Mattapoisett, and Carole Days and her husband William of New Bedford; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Lorraine Arsenault and Yvette LeBlanc.
Her Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday April 23, 2021 at 11 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
