FALL RIVER – Shirley Rego, age 85, passed away on April 1, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Norman Rego. Born in Fall River, she was the daughter of the late John and Lena (Dicesano) Gonsalves. Shirley loved to travel the world. She was an excellent cook and talented seamstress. She loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Shirley was the mother of Norma Picard of FL, Kenneth Rego of Fall River, Sandra Souza of Assonet, Shelley Graves of FL, Norman Rego Jr. of Westport and Jason Rego of Tiverton; sister of the late Elizabeth Harney of Swansea, the late Alice Barns of NC, John Gonsalves of FL and Joseph Gonsalves of Somerset. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate a mass of Christian burial at St. Michael’s Church at 10 A.M. on Tuesday, April 6th. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
