Obituary

CHICOPEE – Carol A. (Moreau) Lawson, 71, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Friday, April 2, 2021. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Springfield on October 7, 1949, a beloved daughter of the late Joseph A. Moreau and Helen E. (Johnson) Moreau Boron. She was raised in Chicopee, graduated from Cathedral High School in 1967, received her Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Western New England College in Springfield and was a lifelong resident of Chicopee. She was previously employed at Dielectrics Inc. in Chicopee, PeoplesBank in Holyoke, Westvaco in Springfield and James River Graphics in South Hadley. She was last employed as a Customer Service Representative at Mass Mutual Life Insurance Company in Springfield and retired in 2008. During her leisure time, Carol enjoyed crocheting, knitting, creative writing and most especially enjoyed traveling with her husband, James of which their most notable trip was traveling to Greece for their 25th wedding anniversary and their yearly trips to Maine. She was a communicant of Saint Anne Church in Chicopee. She leaves her beloved husband and best friend, James F. Lawson. They were married on June 14, 1969 at Saint George Church in Chicopee Falls and were blessed with over 51 years of happiness together. She also leaves her three loving sons, Jeffrey J. Lawson and his wife, Michelle, of Granby, and twins Mark A. Lawson of Little River, SC and Michael J. Lawson of Chicopee; her two cherished grandchildren, Drew and Megan Lawson; her four dear sisters and two dear brothers, Joyce Higgins of South Hadley, Michelle Ivers and her husband, Bernie, of Omaha, NE, Ronald Moreau of Chicopee, Cynthia Rainaud of Chicopee, Nancy Kellum and her husband, Ken, of South Hadley and Brian Moreau of Chicopee; her dear brother-in-law, Daniel Lawson of Chicopee; her two dear sisters-in-law, Sandra Lawson of Chicopee and Catherine Donahue and her husband, David, of Granby; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended family members. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her dear brother, Kenneth M. Moreau who was Called Home on January 11, 2013. Her Funeral and Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
