Obituary

Blanche C. (Racine) Pedro, 96, of Acushnet passed away peacefully on Tuesday March 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Hector C. Pedro.

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Arthur and Irene (Desorcy) Racine, she lived in Acushnet since 1968.

Blanche was a foreman at the Acushnet Company Titleist division for 35 years. She loved her work and was well respected by her peers.

She is remembered as a kind, generous and caring person who was extremely devoted to her family.

She is survived by her children, George Pedro and wife Maureen, and Dorothy Breton and husband Bruce; her siblings, Helen Aubut, Rene Racine, Deacon Leo Racine, Robert Racine, and Pauline Wade; four grandchildren, George Alan Pedro, Lionel Pedro, Brian Breton, and Angela Wilson; three great-grandchildren, Justin Breton, Kayla Wilson, and Tyler Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was the sister of the late Marcelle Kirouac, Lionel Racine, Lorraine Racine, Paul Racine, and Fernand Racine.

Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday April 7, 2021 at 11 AM at Holy Name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church. Burial will follow in Acushnet Cemetery. The Mass will also be live-streamed at www.whalingcitycatholics.org for those unable to attend in person. Visiting hours will be on Tuesday April 6, 2021 from 4-7 PM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
