SWANSEA.… Normand Dupere, 95, of Swansea, MA, passed away, Tuesday, March 30, 2021 at Charlton Memorial Hospital in Fall River.
He was the long-time companion of the late Cecilia O’Leary.
Mr. Dupere was born in Fall River, a son of the late Edouardo and Mathilde (Martel) Dupere and had lived in Swansea since 1978.
He was employed as an Elevator Operator with Arkwright Finishing Plant for over 40 years, retiring in 1987.
Normand enjoyed playing cards and day trips to Foxwoods Casino.
Survivors include his stepson: Michael O’Leary of Glocester, RI; 2 grandchildren: Antoinette Thomson of Smithfield, RI and Casey O’Leary of Manchester, NH; his brother-in-law, Joseph Bucko of Swansea, MA, his niece and caregiver, JoAnn Frizado (husband, Richard) of Fall River and several other nieces and nephews. He was brother of the late Gerard Dupere, Donalda Soucy, Lucille Waddington, Anne Marie Dufresne, Germaine Hickman and Mariette “Penny” Bucko.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be held Wednesday, April 7, 2021 at 8:30 A.M. at the Boyko Memorial Funeral Home, 709 Broadway, Fall River, MA, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. at St. Francis of Assis Church, 530 Gardners Neck Road, Swansea, MA. Interment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 5-8 PM.
