Obituary

CHICOPEE – Raymond F. β€œRay” Perusse, 70, of Chicopee was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, March 31, 2021. He passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by all the memories he loved and cherished. He was born in Springfield on October 26, 1950, a son of the late Warren F. and Ellen E. (Prindle) Perusse. He was raised in Springfield, graduated from the former Springfield Technical High School and lived in Springfield for many years before moving to Chicopee around 1985. Ray was employed for 44 years at Keating-Wilbert Burial Vault Company in Wilbraham and retired in 2013. His attention to detail was evident for every burial vault he had the honor of installing and servicing at all the cemeteries. Most of all, he was a quiet man of few words who loved his family and his many friends. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jacquelyn A. (Duval) Perusse who was Called Home on February 22, 2011. He leaves his daughters, Bonnie L. Placzek and her husband, John and April E. Santos and her husband, Stephen; his four grandchildren, Nicholas and Jordyn Placzek and Matthew and Jacob Santos; his sister, Carol L. Perusse; and his many nephews, nieces, cousins and numerous friends. Friends and relatives are invited to attend a graveside service on Friday, April 9, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, Springfield, MA 01129.
